Well we certainly weren’t expecting weather as mild as we had in November. After such unseasonal weather we have been able to do a good thorough autumn renovation and we are already seeing the benefits. I can definitely say I have never seen the greens look this good in the approach to Chrismas before!
We are making the most of this good weather by continuing to do good work to the course such as fairway shaping and diagonal cutting to improve the aesthetics of the golf course and we’ve already received some great feedback from members and pay and players alike.
Congratulations to Luke Greene aged 10 who has just won our ‘Most Improved Player of the Year’ award at Newbold Comyn. Luke improved his handicap by 6 shots in one year and thoroughly deserves his award, well done! Luke was also an active member (he even helped out) of our Junior Summer Academy this year. If you want to get your child or children into golf get in touch here and we’ll let you know about the lessons we have on here at Newbold.
Elsewhere, we are just putting the final touches together for next year’s season ticket packages which I’m sure are going to be a huge success following on from the previous two years. These will go on sale from March 2012 so keep logged onto the website for further information soon.
Before I go I’d like to pass on a big thank you to Myton Hospice for organising a fantastic charity event at Newbold Comyn last Sunday raising some money for a very worthwhile charity, keep up the good work!
