Bowring Park Golf Course

Bowring Park Golf Course

Bowring Park Golf Course, one of the first municipal golf courses in England, is set within the grounds of Bowring Park, a leisure and recreational park built on land donated to the people of Liverpool by the Bowring family in 1907. The original 9 hole course of 1913 has since been lengthened to 18 holes providing a terrific facility leisure facility to people in the local and surrounding areas.

The course is located just off the M62, making it easy to access and just to make the course even more interesting, you even have to cross over the motorway to get to a section of the golf course!

The parkland course encapsulates a variety of golfing challenges with a well balanced mixture of par 3 and 4 holes. We are also looking to introduce a new par 5 as part of our plans going into 2012. All 18 holes represent a great golfing experience for all abilities and all at superb value for money.

Bowring Park Golf Course is a new addition to our portfolio and from 2012 onwards players will see improvements across the course and its facilities. So come over to Bowring Park, have a game of golf, and see the difference.

Bowring Park Golf Course

17/01/2012

Hello again everyone, I’m just going to give you a quick update on how things are progressing here at Bowring Park. I’m probably not alone in mentioning how the mild winter (up to now) has benefited us greatly and I’m happy to say the positive feedback about the course condition has been rolling in. This has generated an upsurge in season ticket applications so if you’re pondering on the idea of purchasing one my advice would be to act quickly as numbers are limited.

The kind words of praise from customers and members does not mean we will be taking our foot of the gas with regards to improvements, we have started an extensive winter maintenance program which includes drainage works, bunker renovations, bridge & path restorations, extensive tree planting program, improved tee signage, marker post renovations and woodland management, public tee area renovations, fencing repairs and the on-going construction of the new 5th green which will extend the hole to a par 5.

Our new fleet of machines is still working wonders and the semi rough cutter has allowed us to cut back some areas of rough which has seen a noticeable improvement in the speed of play.

The New Year will see the start of the extensive off course facility developments beginning with the car park resurfacing and then the golf shop and office refurbishment which will give the site an aesthetic up lift which mirrors the standard of the course.

Once again I’d like to thank all the staff for the excellent work they have produced and for their help in ensuring the transition from Knowsley Borough Council to Mack trading was a smooth and harmonious one.

Regards
